Tunwal battery guide: 60V or 72V, lead-acid or lithium
Tunwal's low-speed scooters come with lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries, on 60V or 72V. Here is what each model takes, so you buy the right replacement.
Quick answer
Tunwal scooters run on 60V (Mini Lithino, Alfa Lite, Alfa Pro, Lithino Pro) or 72V (Storm XL, Roma N, E-Boat). Most come with lead-acid packs of 32 to 43Ah that charge in 7 to 8 hours; the Lithino Pro and E-Boat also come with a lithium-ion 30Ah pack that charges in 4 to 5 hours.

From the model pages on tunwal.com, checked November 2026. Voltage is Tunwal's operating voltage. Tunwal also lists other lead-acid sizes (30 to 43Ah) on some models, so check your own label.
Lead-acid or lithium on a Tunwal?
Tunwal gives 7 to 8 hours to charge its lead-acid packs and 4 to 5 hours for its lithium-ion 30Ah packs. On the E-Boat, Tunwal rates the lithium version at 90 to 100 km against 70 to 75 km for lead-acid.
A lead-acid pack on these scooters is a set of 12V blocks: five for 60V, six for 72V. When one block goes weak, the whole set suffers, so we test each block before replacing.
Upgrading a Tunwal from lead-acid to lithium
- Keep the same voltage: 60V stays 60V, 72V stays 72V.
- A lead-acid charger must not be used on lithium. You need a charger made for the new pack.
- The scooter gets lighter and charges faster. We check the controller and battery box before we quote.
Tunwal batteries and the monsoon
Tunwal lists IP65 water resistance on several models, which covers rain and splashes, not riding through deep water. If your scooter stood in a water-logged street, get the battery and wiring checked before you charge it.
