Joy e-bike battery guide: every model, every pack
We are authorised Joy e-bike dealers. Here is the battery inside each Joy model, taken from Joy's own spec pages, and what it means for charging and replacement.
Quick answer
Joy e-bike scooters use lithium-ion packs: 60V 24Ah NMC on the Wolf, Gen-Next Nanu and Glob, 60V 36.4Ah on the Wolf+ and Nanu+, and 72V 40Ah on the Nemo and Mihos. The Hurricane and Beast carry fixed 72V packs of 66Ah and 72Ah. Always replace with the same voltage.

From Joy e-bike's official model pages, checked November 2026. Makers sometimes change packs between batches, so we always read the label on your vehicle before fitting anything.
How to read these numbers
Voltage (60V or 72V) must match the scooter's controller and charger. Never fit a pack of a different voltage. Ah is the size of the tank: on the same voltage, more Ah means more range.
Volts times Ah gives the energy. A 60V 24Ah pack holds about 1.44 kWh, a 60V 36.4Ah pack about 2.18 kWh, and a 72V 40Ah pack about 2.88 kWh. That is why the Wolf+ goes further than the Wolf.
Detachable or fixed?
Joy lists the packs of the Wolf+, Gen-Next Nanu+, Gen-Next Nanu, Glob and the two Eco models as detachable, so you can carry the battery up to your flat and charge it indoors. The Hurricane and Beast motorcycles have fixed packs that charge on the vehicle.
Joy's charging times, flat to full: about 4 hours for the 24Ah models, 4 to 5 hours for the 36.4Ah models, about 5 hours for the Nemo and Mihos, 8 hours for the Hurricane and 9 hours for the Beast.
Replacing a Joy battery
- First get a free diagnosis. A range drop is not always the battery — tyres, brakes or the charger can be the cause.
- Keep the same voltage and a pack that fits the battery box and connector.
- If you change chemistry, for example NMC to LFP, the charger must match the new pack.

Questions
Frequently asked questions

Can I remove the Joy Nanu battery and charge it at home?
Yes. Joy lists the Gen-Next Nanu and Nanu+ packs as detachable. Use the original charger and charge indoors in a dry place.
Can I put a bigger battery in my Joy scooter?
Sometimes, if the voltage stays the same and the pack fits the box. A higher-voltage pack is not safe for the controller. Bring the scooter in and we check before we suggest anything.
How long does a Joy e-bike battery take to charge?
Joy states about 4 hours for the 24Ah scooters, 4 to 5 hours for the Wolf+ and Nanu+, about 5 hours for the Nemo and Mihos, and 8 to 9 hours for the Hurricane and Beast.
